Dangerous Cameras, Taking Point and Shoot To a New Level

These reminded me of a friend of mine in college who came up with a portraiture project that never (thankfully) left the concept phase. It was something like; build a camera into the body of a pistol of some sort, unleash said camera on the unsuspecting population of NYC, try not to get arrested. The pictures would have been great to see but some ideas are best as just ideas.

Lytro cameras = Focus in post

No, seriously. Computational photography is knocking- hard. In 25 years will lenses be relevant? Certain tech specs are not being published currently (pixel count, file type, bit depth, color space) and the business model appears to be rental so we aren't talking about a consumer-ready product yet but mark your calendar. This is the beginning of the second wave of digital tech redefining photography. This time it won't be about replacing the recording medium and workflow; this time it's going to be about re-inventing the camera itself.
